The Al Arous Canal Phase 01 is a landmark infrastructure component within a major new mixed-use residential district in Jeddah. Located in the Northern Jeddah—north of King Abdulaziz International Airport and approximately 2km east of Obhur Creek—the development represents a significant urban expansion designed to accommodate over 130,000 residents. At the heart of Jeddah’s newest community lies Saudi Arabia’s first-ever manmade canal — a true engineering milestone. The total value of the first phase of canal construction is estimated at SAR 800 million.
WJ Saudi has been appointed to deliver the complete design and installation of the dewatering system for the entire canal development. Our scope includes a detailed site investigation, ground condition assessments, and the execution of comprehensive pumping tests to inform an efficient and tailored dewatering strategy.
Demonstrating our commitment to technical excellence and client satisfaction, WJ conducted a full-scale pump test at no cost to the client prior to the design phase. This proactive initiative enabled precise groundwater modeling and ensured the most efficient dewatering solution was identified from the outset.
